(1) Nationwide, absolute evaluation
Test questions are created based on "test standards" that determine content and summarize ability range. Since this is a nationwide ability, absolute evaluation system, it is useful as a standard test for mathematics ability proof needed for school or job qualifications. This is also connected to studying test strategies, preparation, reviewing, and establishing a foundation. In addition to Japan, the test is administered in the Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, and other countries as well.
(2) All test problems require written answers
This is to measure whether or not the test taker has a good grasp of basic and applied mechanics, and understands how to answer effectively. This method improves the test taker's ability to think clearly, make sound judgments, and express himself / herself.
(3) Those who pass the test are recognized for their achievement
A certificate is issued for those who are able to pass the test.
The Mathematics Certification Institute of Japan recognizes a test taker for passing Sugaku Kentei, passing Calculation Test, and Application Test, guaranteeing permanent certification.
• For Sugaku Kentei from the 1st Kyu to the 5th Kyu:
